If you choose fishing, Depending on where the fish are or your preference spend the day with one of our guides on the river fishing for those giant King Salmon. Enjoy the sites, my first trip out I actually saw a mother moose and her baby swim across the river. Do not worry no fishing experience is needed, and our guides are good with kids. They are fathers too. Bring home your catch and we will either get it processed for you or cook it up for you. Horse back riding spend a few hours (trust me 2-3 hours in the saddle is enough) riding the trails or drift the upper Kasilof and land at a picturesc sight and enjoy a shore lunch and a little exploration.
Then enjoy late afternoon sightseeing Kenai and the museum, old log structures and Russian Orthodox churches, or dive to Nikiski to the water park, or take a walk through the Kenai Peninsula wildlife refuge just outside of Soldotna. You can always stop and race go karts. Pick up your souvenirs while you are in town. Halibut fish and chips Retreat style (really good) Movie night with popcorn and root beer floats. We will get a soft ball game going, or throw horseshoes, nap in a hammock, go for a walk or drive down to Homer to see what there is of fireworks. Or maybe check out the rodeo. We will let you know what activities are being put on around the area for the 4th of July.

You have one free day to go Razor clam digging (we have shovels and buckets) or perhaps sight see. You can add a fishing trip or another activity. Visit the cultural center, tour the Old Russian Orthodox church in Kenai. Walk the trails of the Kenai refuge center just out of Soldotna. The Rangers will be able to tell you where to look out for bears and where the moose are along the way. Hiking is always popular and we can point you in the right direction for hikes suited to your level. We can also send a guide with you for a small fee if you would like a guided hike. There is always a water taxi across to Soldovia, an old Russian fishing village. You will have time to shop, have a nice lunch and catch your ride back. Half of the fun is the ride there and back across the inlet. If you are here after August 1st there is fishing in Crooked Creek. You can always borrow a pole and gear from us. Or just relax and rest up for the rest of the week. Find a hammock and take a little nap, build a bon fire and sit around the fire pit. We can always bring in a massage therapist for a relaxing treatment and then you can hop in the hot tub. Or pick up a canoe and try part of the Swanson Lake system, great for canoes. Just ask and we will help you with whatever you decide you would like to do.
