We will welcome you back, open up the Arctic Spa, hand you a towel and bring you something cold to drink. We will invite you to sit on the deck and have a snack before dinner. We know fishing and touring is really hard work. Your only job is to relax!
Step through the front door this is where the pampering begins.

"Auntie Dorothy" will welcome to "the Retreat" in the log foyer. She will show you to your room and give you a tour pointing out some of the details that will make your stay one of comfort. She will remind you that you will pick up your personal cooler with your custom made lunch in the front hall. Her lunches are now famous on the River. She will hand you an insulated tumbler of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, just ask. Or we will have a thermos of gourmet coffee fixed just the way you like it. If it is cold "Auntie Dorothy" will give you some hand warmers to put in your pocket or look for a hat or extra sweat shirt. Hip boots, rain gear, and just about anything else you need is available. Ask the night before and it will be waiting at the front door for you.

Come back to this Alaska retreat and relax on the deck |

Look for moose grazing on willows, grass and wading in crooked creek. Look for the water beaver cutting branches for his home on the shore. Check at dusk for the brown bear fishing in the creek or the eagles soaring above. Watch the mother ducks take their new ducklings out for a swim. The creek is home to many birds and small animals. Check for that pesky ermine in the wood pile or the squirrels running and jumping in the trees. |
 |
 |
King fishers, magpies, swallows, owls, hawks, wrens, ravens, seagulls, and little chickadees are only a sample of the birds you will see. King Salmon spawn in our creek every year. You can see them and hear them come up the creek from the balcony or the deck. |
