What do you really need

You really only need to bring comfortable clothing, Alaska is very casual.  Make sure you pack warm sweat shirts, long sleeve shirts or T's, a warm coat, a hat, the object is to go out in the mornings with at least three layers that you can remove as it gets warmer. Many people bring underalls, or some sort of wicking shirts designed to keep you warm. A couple of pairs of tennis shoes in case you get one pair gets wet. If you plan on Hiking bring hiking boots.  You will want a suit for the Hot Tub.  Sun screen is a must plus sun glasses!  Bring gloves for those cold mornings and warm socks to wear in boots.  We will provide rain gear but it does not take the place of sweat shirts or a coat.

You might go out in the morning at 44 degrees and be at 70+ before you get off the boat.  The hat should help keep sun off your face, and one for wind and cold out of your ears.  The sun bounces off the water and can give you a bad burn so even with a hat you need sun screen.  Plus the sun is at a lower angle here and you will get pink, red or brown.  You might want chap stick, a good moisturizer for hands and face. The air is dry here.  Sea sick pills or patch, better safe than sorry.

You will have a terry robe in your room.  There is shampoo, conditioner, and soap in your rooms, if you want your own bring it along.  If you forget tooth brushes, paste, etc I have a supply.  We provide coolers for your lunches, bottled water, water cooler, and the tap water is good.  We also have coolers you can borrow to go out and about for the day.  If we have it and you need it we loan it.  There is also a Fred Meyers Store in Soldotna that has clothing, food, electronics, toiletries and all the fishing or hunting stuff you could want.  It is a one stop shopping and even has furniture.  That is where you can buy wine, beer and hard liquor.
If you are addicted to your lap top bring it, we have wifi through out the lodge.  Of course your camera!
Most of all bring your sense of humor and be prepared to enjoy yourself.

I think that if you just think not only is it cold, it gets hot, it rains, the wind blows and the sun shines hot.  You have it made.  If you don't like the weather we say wait five min and it will change.
