I invite you to come and spend a week with us in my lodge, Crooked Creek Retreat. The doors were first opened to guests in July of 2007 and we have been growing ever since. I am here year round, we do not lock up and go to the lower 48 in the winter. What makes us special is that we take care of all the details. Our goal is to make sure you have the best experience possible from the moment you arrive until we are waving good bye as you are pulling out of the driveway.
I know that it is difficult to pick the right location and then the right lodge when there are so many on the web. The Kenai Peninsula gives you accessibility and variety. Most remotes and in the Southeast you fish the same thing and the same place everyday. On the Peninsula you will have a variety, Salt fishing Halibut and multi species, Salmon, Trout, rivers, lakes, streams, something different everyday or repeat your favorite.
Arrange your flight from your home town into Anchorage, rent a car and drive down or fly into the Kenai airport and we can pick you up or you can rent a car there. With a vehicle you can go out and about for sight seeing and other activities.
When looking you need to know about the fishing, guides, boats and gear. We have great guides none of the college kids, want-a-bees, plus we do not sub out our trips. Our guides are here on site and we pull the boat up to the front door and drive you to you fresh water fishing trips. There is none of that looking for the launch and looking for the right boat and the right guide. All of your trips with us are full trips not 1/2 day and off the boat for the next group. You also need to consider the lodge, if it is described as rustic take that to heart, ask about the baths, beds, linens, meals, take a look at the web site. Ask about staff to guest ratios. Ask about those things. Then find out if you are communicating with a "booker", a salesman working on commission, or are you talking to the lodge owner/outfitter?
Next think about the location, if you pick a lodge on the Kenai River it may sound great but usually there is a lodge on each side of you and another lodge directly across the river, plus you will be wedged between the river and road. Or are you looking for a more tranquil setting? Is the lodge conveniently located to get on both rivers, to your Salt Trip launch, to your other activities? Will you have a chance to relax, view wildlife, or will you be on a city lot on the river, or close to the river, or on maybe up to half an acre? We sit on 6 acres on Crooked Creek, just 2 miles to the Kasilof, 15 min to the Kenai, and 45 min to your salt water fishing. Plus we are about 8 min to the salt water beach.
Those are some of the things you will want to consider. I am sure when you look at all of them you will choose us and you will fast become a believer in Crooked Creek Retreat and Outfitters, our service, our dedication and our great guides and staff.
I look forward to hearing from you,
